[NEEDS REVIEW] Creating new entities

This page offers a description on how to add new data to pages.

Introduction

Needs review from [everyone?]

Creating new entities refers to adding new data and creating new links between data, NOT updating existing data (this is editing) or filling in missing fields in e.g. detail pages. (this is also editing).

Where can new entities be created?

This depends on the page, please go on the specific page you're looking for, under "Validation and editing rules". As a rule of thumb, entities can be created in lists [tables], but not in detail pages, where data can only be edited.

Creating new entities

Example: New Position

A user can create new entities to any page that allows this, by clicking on the button "Nieuw". In this example, we are adding a new position to the list of positions for Frank.

A new screen opens, where the user fills in all the information for that position. This is both the information needed in the cards [information about the position, aanstelling, and finances] as well as the contact information that will relate to that position, and the terms of employment (voorwaarden), which will be displayed in a table.

Example: New Administrative Unit

It looks similar to editing kerngegevens for an existing administrative unit. Once you have created the kerngegevens, the bestuurseenheid exists. You then gain access to all other pages for an administrative unit, which you can start filling in by creating new entities on the relevant pages.
